Thomas Wagner; Photographer, Freelance Writer, Historical Researcher, Web Designer

"Been there, done that" might be the operative word. But, actually I prefer "Old age and cunning will overcome youth and exuberance".

Most of my career has been spent in one form of electronics or another. Computers became a passion of mine when I built my first one in the mid 1960's. From then on I pretty well stayed within the area of computers, big ones and little ones. When I had one at home I told everyone that soon everyone would own one. No one even believed me that a person could own their own computer then. I actually met Bill Gates when he moved back to Washington from Albuquerque. Too bad I was not smart enough to stay in contact. But, that is another whole story.

In the beginning days of Personal Computers, back when Apple was the king a couple of associates of mine all got together and developed the first computer assisted image processing system for Evidence Analysis. That was sure a fun part of my life. Got to travel all over N. America and hang out with the real "Crime Scene Investigators". Not the ones we see on the television. Even got to go to court as a professional witness as the biggest problem was convincing the court we were not manufacturing evidence. And where are we now?

Now I am on the low side of 60. I have a sailboat and a passion for photography and writing. This website is where I hope I can tell folks what I do and perhaps educate them on the history and beauty of Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.

I hope you enjoy my website and always look forward to hearing from anyone that enjoyed the stay. Email me thomas.wagner@shaw.ca .
