Molson Washington

A Real Old West Border Town

Anyone familiar with the television series "Bordertown"? Well, towns like that did indeed exist, mainly in the NW where the line between the Canadian and US border was a little vague. Molson Washington is a prime example of just such a town. Now virtually deserted, it is being carefully preserved by a group of dedicated residents. Most of which were born in the area, or have direct roots to the town's past.

To find it drive straight west from Oroville Washington (just south of Osoyoos for about 10 or so miles and take Molson Road on the left for about 5 miles. Visit the bank, assay office, a couple of homestead cabins and the old schoolhouse. Admission is by donation, 10-5 from Memorial Day to Labour Day. I am going to let the pictures speak for themselves.
