I use all sorts of tools, some electronic test equipment, some hand tools.

If one is going to play around with old tube radios and stuff a good tube tester is essential. This is one of the best ones B&K Electronics made. It still works terrific.

Meter on the right is a Wesson Volt/Amp meter from about 1920. It also works perfectly. As it is not very sensitive it is perfect for testing small batteries. The meter is sitting on a copy of the Rider Receiving Tube Sibstitution Guide. A valuable resource from the 50-60's.

The Heath Company, then of Benton Harbor made a lot of hobby kits. I probably built most of them. In fact the latest one I built (far too new to include here) was just last year. I found a FET Voltmeter kit intact in a junk store (sorry, collectable shop). But, at right are a couple of standard test units they made. One at the right I use regularly for audio testing. Capacitor tester at left I just found.

Not show is a resister, capacitor and inductor decade box I also use.

I also have a Kantenna dummy load for radio testing.

Coming soon, some pictures of other stuff I have found. Click here to go back to the radios page, or here to return to the main menu.
