I USE TUBES....

As much as we all like the fancy digital displays and solid state lights there is something about tube equipment that some of us find attractive. Now granted, a Yaesu FT101 in any incarnation is not a tube unit but a hybrid. Uses TV sweep tubes and a driver tube. The rest is all solid state. This unit is the original "bullet proof" radio unit. I have hooked it into just about everything but the bed springs.

The 101B is a second generation radio. I had a 101E, the unit had an added digital display. It packed it in, so the radio became junk rather than an accumulation. Too bad, but those are the rules of accumulation. If it does not work it is of no use other than parts to get another unit working again!

An old "bug" key given to me my Frank Davis, a ham chum (now a silent key). Still works fine, but it sends far too fast for me.

It is shown with the GE Tube Manual, a vital resource for anyone restoring old radios.
